Star Power Game Reflection

  1. What makes you follow the rules?
       - I followed the rules because the squares had the most money and could create laws that we had to follow. That gave them an unfair amount of power and I couldn't really do anything about it, but just follow them.

     2.  Is there anything wrong with the idea of wanting to be in the highest social class in a society?

       - I think it is quite wrong for everyone to be in the highest social class. I think it's wrong because this will cause conflicts among those people as they all want the same thing, but they will probably not get it. There has to be a balance and having everyone be in the highest social class is not it.

     3.  How is it possible to limit the government's power?

       - It's possible to limit the government's power by having people protest against them. They can create as many laws as they want, but if no one follows them and everyone protests against the government, their only choice would be to repeal those laws.

     4.  Where does the power come from?

       - In my opinion, the government's power comes from people. If they make good laws that would make everyone follow them, then they would still have the power. However, they could also have power by controlling the military force or the police, but if they send the police or the military to arrest anyone who would oppose them, then they would basically lose their position as being in the government.

    5.  What are some negative effects of all people constantly competing against one and other for a spot in the highest class?

      - One of the negative effects would be that there would be a lot of tension and anger built up inside every person and if they got to the highest class, they would let the anger out and make even more unfair laws. Also, for the lower class people, their anger would first show through deciding not to follow the laws, but eventually, this would turn to violence. There would be a civil war between the people in the highest class versus the people in the lowest class. There would also be the constant making of new, unfair laws because once someone gets the power, greed takes over them. All this would create an unstable society with no good government to lead its people forward to make better choices as everyone would be power hungry and greedy.
